A Rose
Revolution
(available
on itunes and cdbaby)
I record
various types of music for various reasons, an album review
of my last release can be read below. I am currently working
on an acoustic album which is due out in the summer. I am
very excited about the album and ready to pick up where
I left off on the last release. Recently one of the tracks
(re-done by Colin Lake of Portland OR) was picked up by
Relix Magazine and will be distributed for free to their
entire distribution list.
Album Review: "A Rose Revolution
is refreshing. As a broad overview,
Ian Mouser pays an honorable tribute to his musical influences
by creatively blending them all together: classic rock,
ambient alternative, old-time blues, and all-American rock
'n' roll. This album is well-worth adding to anyone's collection
for that reason alone. But, looking closer, we are treated
to further meticulous details. Mouser showcases his talents
notably through tone choices, both in vocals and his guitar
playing. In addition to that, his writing is definitely
worthy of mention. Each song stands out as its own, unique
chapter, but Ian strings them together seamlessly to keep
the listener involved for the entire duration of the track
list. He delivers to us a complete package in "A Rose Revolution":
a wonderful sense of exploration, topped off with that satisfaction
we all look forward to at the end of a good story." (Dianna

ANOTHER
CYNTHIA:
After attending several Another
Cynthia shows and deciding that this band was one of my
favorite Portland acts, the band lost a member and invited
me to audition. I am now playing bass with them. I have
not played the bass since high school, it is a great new
challenge and I am excited to be a part of the band. They
have had their songs played on MTV, the VMA's, independent
films, and been featured artists on radio stations around
the U.S. You can check out the music, read reviews and see
photos by clicking the link below.

My
Voice Music Program:
"Try getting a young
person to tell you how they're feeling and you'll probably
get a shrug of the shoulders in response. Give them an instrument
and tell them how to use it and see what happens."
John Kilbey, Sounds of The Street, Sydney Australia.
The "My Voice"
Program focuses on developing self esteem, social skills
and positive forms of expression in high-needs and mentally
ill youth through teaching them to play and write music.
Throughout the program, these youth learn to play instruments
including the drums, acoustic/electric and bass guitars,
keyboards and voice.
Throughout the program,
nearly every youth learns to play an instrument and works
with their peers in order to write, perform and record a
song in front of an audience of their school mates and staff.
Every youth is given a CD of the song which they played
on and helped to write in the studio. Students who show
an interest in music are provided with an instrument and
the opportunity to work with a local musician/mentor in
order to help them on their journey of music and healing.
In the end, my hope is to
develop a positive sense of self in these students through
asking them to listen to their own voice and understand
that their story has value. To read more, hear the students
songs, or to find out information on requesting this program
for your own youth team or child please click the link below.

GUITAR
LESSONS:
I provide individualized lessons
in guitar and song writing. I am versed in chord structures,
various finger picking styles, leads, and scales. I focus
not only on playing and reciting music, but creating it.
I work with students on developing their own style while
learning the methods of others. Specifically I focus on
phrasing, voice, accompaniment, song structure and melody.
I also provide opportunities for all my students to record
in my studio in order to have a permanent record of their
progress. Please click the portfolio link below to see my
credentials and click the lessons link below for more details
on receiving lessons.
